Abstract
|

|
Familial adenomatous polyposis is an inherited autosomal dominant disorder characterized by the appearance in early life of numorous adenomas of colon and rectum. At first familial adenomatous polyposis is non-malignant but if the disease left
untreated, all of them will develop adenocarcinoma of cololectum about 15 years later.
The preferred treatment is total proctocolectomy. But some surgeons recommand retum preserving procedure and they postulated spontaneous regression of remained polyps in the rectum.
We report two cases of familial adenomatous polyposis that the remained polyposis in the rectum were regressed spontaneously after total colectomy and ileoproctostomy.
